Saudi Arabia has huge resources of silica sand and quartz as well as well-developed infrastructure and industrial cities where water, electricity, fuel and other services are available at subsidized rates. Saudi investors are looking forward to utilizing these resources for the production of specialty glasses, silicon carbide, silica chemicals, fused silica and silica fillers as well as polycrystalline silicon for photovoltaic applications.
